Marcy Mickens Anholt has been making stained glass windows professionally since 1977. Her windows sparkle across the United States from Washington, Ohio, Alabama, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Oregon, and California, and around the world from Australia to Canada.
The Artists Says….
I enjoy making every window by hand from start to finish. I specializes in traditional styled stained glass using the best available materials. The process of cutting, grinding, and hand leading my own glass from every window is of the utmost importance to me. This way I can make the best artistic choices for each individual window, to create a unique finished product specific to each client’s desires.
My windows benefit from a wide variety of colors and textures in the highest quality types of glass. Throughout my career I’ve worked with many different aspects of glass art, from blown glass to stained and beyond; this has given me a unique perspective and ability to understand the qualities and the inherent strengths and weaknesses of different types of glass. I use this knowledge to select exactly the right materials for each project.
I take great pride in my work and have a deep love of glass; I am always thrilled to see the sunlight come through a new window for the first time. Each window is the culmination of my skills and experience and your ideas and personality; I love to see how these elements combine differently with every project for a beautiful, one-of-a-kind art window. My work brings joy to others each time the sun shines through, and I love that the most. |
